lovely experience so far with my pilot metropolitan (retropolitan? haha!) as the aluminum barrel is quite comfortable with smooth ink flow in the nib. the dull luster of the pen is quite lovely in every light. My only caveat is that the pen is a bit heavy albeit balanced, particularly when the cap is on the end. In addition, the rubber sac converter is quite difficult to get the hang of, even with iroshizuku ink bottles. would much rather prefer a twist-type converter in this pen.
I was recommended a few models as an introductory fountain pen, and my first thoughts when I unboxed the metropolitan retro and began writing was "I'm glad I picked this one". Very satisfying, juicy feeling.
I love the pilot nibs and ink. Filled my metropolitan with Iroshizuku ink and it's now my everyday goto pen.
I got the purple pen and I love the metallic looks and feel.
Love this pen! It writes smoothly and has no false starts or skips. Balanced well even when posting. My order was processed quickly and arrived well protected in the box.
