Toyooka Craft in Japan has always been my favourite maker of pen collection storage boxes. This particular one is a rare model that offers some useful features and an interesting woodworking technique or two. Notably, the glass-panelled top lid features an integrated wood dowel hinge, which is your first hint that there is no metal of any kind anywhere in the box - it's entirely designed with fine joinery. As usual from Toyooka Craft, the drawers slide very smoothly, finishing is flawless, finger pulls are amply sized for ease of use, drawer linings and interior sizes easily hold full-size fountain pens, and wood choice reveals grain that is pleasing to the eye from any angle. The conservative styling, to my eye, works perfectly amidst any decor no matter how rough, mundane or elegant your place happens to be. Personally, I think every serious (or even not so serious) pen collector should consider acquiring one of Toyooka Craft's pen storage boxes. I like mine a lot!
