Pilot Iroshizuku fountain pen ink New Colours!
Introducing New 2022 Ink Colours by Pilot Iroshizuku
Now, in 2022, we have three new colours to welcome to our Iroshizuku ink collections. This blog with introduce you to the 3 new inks with a close-up of each one.
It is not very often that Iroshizuku Inks by Pilot introduce new colours to the series. To our knowledge, the last time we saw new colours was back in 2018, 7 shades called the '7 Gods of Good Fortune' to celebrate Pilot's 100th Anniversary. With an additional announcement in 2019 that Pilot was discontinuing 3 shades from the Iroshizuku series.

1) Sui-Gyoku / Emerald Green
The in-the-bottle visuals and when freshly applied initially look somewhat blue. But upon drying, turns into the glints of the inner-shine you would find as you peer into an emerald gemstone.
TIP: Sometimes you must wait until ink fully dries to see the true colour and shading. The type of paper you use can also affect the final look of the ink.
Since sui-gyoku can fall within the realm of a more traditional shade of blue, it can be a good ink for an everyday ink for writing that can still stand out from the crowd thanks to its unique shade.
2) Hotaru-Bi / Green Yellow Firefly Glow
Hotaru-bi is a green-yellow color with a very beautiful ink name and conveys the idea of having a spark of colour to bring life to a quiet page. Create a pop of colour to mark up documents, write headings or underline important or specific areas of interest.
We love colour and hotaru-bi is vibrant and refreshing addition to your ink collection.
3) Hana-Ikada / A River of Cherry Blossom Petals
Hana-Ikada is a soft pink that still maintains a good saturation, making a bold mark when writing on paper. Iroshizuku has a extensive collection of pinks. The new hana-ikada can be viewed as a true pink comparing to the other pink inks which have hints of purple or are a darker shade. This will be the lightest of the pinks, but definitely will not be light in saturation.
